How To Create a Good Feng Shui Bedroom

While we want our entire homes to be inviting and relaxing, this is especially important in the bedroom. The bedroom is where we go to replenish our body’s energy and spend intimate time with our partners. This is why it is so important to have good Feng Shui, promoting a positive flow of energy, in the bedroom. When incorporating Feng Shui principles in the bedroom, there are a few simple tips and general guidelines that you can easily put into practice. There are a few basic elements that all good Feng Shui bedrooms have:

Bed Guidelines

Basic Feng Shui suggests that the bed should be easily accessed at either side, and there should be a small bedside table at each side of the bed. The bed should also not be in a direct line with the bedroom door, and it should have a mattress and sheets made from high quality natural fabrics.

Lighting Levels

Lighting is very important when manifesting energy. In the bedroom, you should be able to adjust the levels of lighting. Instead of only having one very bright level or no lighting, incorporate dimmer switches and toxin free candles into the lighting of the bedroom.

Fresh Air

The quality of air you breathe is essential to good Feng Shui. You need fresh air in the bedroom instead of stale air, which could contain pollutants. To bring fresh air into the bedroom, open a window or use an air purifier. Do not use plants for fresh air unless you are able to keep the plants far from the bed.

Rid Your Bedroom of Distractions

It is impossible to have good Feng Shui in the bedroom if you have a computer or television in the bedroom. Those items completely derail the intimate sensual energizing nature of the bedroom.

Soothing Colors and Images

When decorating your bedroom, be sure to choose appropriate colors and images to display in your bedroom. You want to choose tranquil colors that will promote recuperative sleep. It is easily possible to find colors that both fit in with your preferred décor, but also do not disrupt the flow of energy in the bedroom.

When choosing images for the bedroom, whether they be photographs or paintings, you should chooses images that motivate and uplift. The images should represent how you want to feel all the time. Do not put images up in your bedroom that are going to conjure feelings of sadness and despair, or that is going to bring down the energy in the room drastically.

Lose the Clutter

Especially at the end of the night, when you are ready to fall into a deep relaxing sleep, you do not want any disorder or clutter in the room. Keep the room, including your closet, well organized. This order will lower your levels of stress and anxiety and create a sense of calm in the bedroom. Keep all of the doors in the bedroom closed at the end of the night, including bathroom and closet doors. This will make everything feel in its place, well balanced, and peaceful.
